The Altum PT Multispectral Sensor for Drones is a stabilised five-band optical camera system designed for integration onto mid-size UAS platforms to capture simultaneous red, green, blue, near-infrared, and red-edge imagery across a single flight pass. The multi-band approach enables index calculations — NDVI, GNDVI, and CCCI — directly from raw data without requiring multiple flight sorties or post-flight image registration, dramatically accelerating agricultural scouting, environmental assessment, and infrastructure analysis workflows.

The sensor array comprises five individual 2.0MP CMOS imagers with a 3.75 micrometre pixel pitch, mounted on a precision optical bench with factory-calibrated co-registration ensuring cross-band pixel alignment to within 0.5 pixels across the full field of view. Global shutter architecture eliminates rolling distortion during high-speed flight, maintaining image quality during rapid aircraft manoeuvres. The three-axis stabilised gimbal compensates for UAV pitch, roll, and yaw motion, keeping the optical axis aligned within ±0.5° during collection.

Output formats include GeoTIFF files with embedded GPS/IMU metadata and computed index layers, directly compatible with agricultural analysis software for yield mapping, variable-rate irrigation planning, and pest pressure assessment. Thermal imaging is available as a separate integrated option on the Altum PT variant.

Connectivity to the UAV’s flight controller occurs via a single USB-C or CAN bus interface, with onboard processing capable of delivering index-calculated data in real time or storing raw bands for post-flight analysis.
