Armored Sedans

Armored Sedans start as luxury or executive chassis such as the Mercedes S Class, BMW 7 Series, or Audi A8. They feature multilayered ballistic steel, aramid or UHMWPE composite panels, and transparent armor glazing. Steel armor protects the doors, pillars, roof, floor, firewall, and fuel tank. Ballistic glass thickness ranges from 40 mm to 75 mm, depending on standards like CEN BR6/BR7 or NIJ III/IV. Although the armor adds 500–1500 kg, upgraded OEM-style suspension, brakes, and run-flat tires maintain smooth handling and ride comfort.

The glazing consists of laminated hardened glass and polycarbonate interlayers bonded with PVB, EVA, or polyurethane under heat and pressure. This design absorbs and disperses impact energy while preventing spall. Additionally, ceramic-composite inserts strengthen critical areas to resist armor-piercing rounds without adding excessive bulk.

Armored Sedans find widespread use in executive protection, diplomatic transport, security convoys, and high-risk corporate travel. They offer 360° defense, covering glass, body panels, floor, roof, and underbody. Meanwhile, the vehicles retain factory aesthetics for discretion. Interiors remain sealed and can be optionally pressurized for CBRN defense. Run-flat tires ensure mobility even after penetration.

To what standard are the armoring materials certified?
Each Sedan meets CEN BR6/BR7 (NIJ III/IV) and VPAM or equivalent certifications. The transparent armor rates BG3–BG7, with glass thickness from 40 to 75 mm, designed to withstand high-velocity rifle and armor-piercing threats.
