Oil-Free Booster Air Compressor
Oil-free booster air compressors take pre-compressed air from an existing supply and step up its pressure to higher working levels without introducing oil contamination into the boosted air stream. They serve breathing air cylinder filling, high-pressure instrument supply, pneumatic testing, and industrial process applications where both elevated pressure and certified oil-free air quality are simultaneously required.
The booster accepts inlet pressures from as low as 2 bar and elevates output to working pressures of 20 to 400 bar depending on model and stage configuration. Two-stage and three-stage compression designs use intercooling between stages. This removes heat generated during compression and prevents thermal damage to seals and valves. Furthermore, PTFE piston rings and non-lubricated cylinder bores eliminate oil from the compression path entirely. As a result, output air meets ISO 8573-1 Class 0 oil content specification without downstream filtration stages specifically targeting compressor oil.
Breathing air booster applications fill SCBA and SCUBA cylinders to 200 or 300 bar working pressure from a low-pressure compressed air supply. Integrated Grade E or Grade D air purification cartridges remove CO, CO2, water vapor, and odors before the boosted air enters the storage cylinder. Additionally, electric-drive oil-free boosters suit fixed fire station and diving facility installations. Air-drive boosters run entirely from existing compressed air supply — eliminating electrical power requirements at remote deployment sites.
High-pressure testing booster applications pressurize hydrostatic test rigs, valve test benches, and pressure vessel proof-test systems. These require consistent, repeatable pressure delivery without oil contamination that would foul test equipment seals and measuring instruments.
