Airmar EchoRange
The Airmar EchoRange is a compact marine sonar and depth-finding transducer designed for vessel navigation, obstacle detection, and seabed mapping across shallow to moderate water depths. The transducer emits acoustic pulses and measures return time to calculate water depth and identify submerged objects — logs, rocks, wrecks — that pose collision hazards to surface navigation.
Operating specifications on the EchoRange typically cover frequency ranges around 192kHz or 235kHz in the ultrasonic band, providing fine range resolution suitable for detecting objects as small as 15cm to 30cm depending on transducer model. Range coverage extends from near-field dead zones of 0.3 to 0.5 metres up to maximum detection ranges of 60 to 150 metres depending on water clarity and seabed composition. The transducer mounts through-hull or on a transom bracket, with electrical connections via a single-pin or multi-pin connector to a compatible marine GPS/fish-finder display unit or standalone depth gauge.
