• Passive 360° RF detection — listens for drone/control/data‑link signals (2.4 GHz, 5.8 GHz, GPS/telemetry, LTE etc.) without transmitting.

  • Classification & identification — detects modem/protocol signatures (DJI, Autel, FPV links) and classifies likely drone make/model from RF fingerprints.

  • Direction‑finding (DF) / geolocation — many systems support AOA/TDoA or networked sensors to locate pilot/controller.

  • Integration & C2 outputs — provides IP outputs, alerts, event logs, and can cue camera turrets or recorders via common APIs (Dedrone, DroneShield style).

  • Typical detection ranges vary — telemetry/FPV links may be seen from a few hundred metres to multiple kilometres in ideal LOS; vendors publish range vs target type so insist on their detection curves.

  • Use cases & legality — ideal for event security, critical infrastructure and perimeter warning. Passive RF scanning is legal in most jurisdictions; do not use transmitters/jammers unless explicitly authorised.
