Smart Cones
The Smart Cones retrofit existing 28-inch JBC traffic cones weighing 10 pounds that comply with Caltrans specifications, with a 7-pound variant entering production soon. Each unit contains an internal LED array with 12 high-intensity diodes arranged vertically along the cone’s interior surface, producing 360-degree illumination visible up to 1,500 feet in darkness. The system operates on rechargeable lithium-ion batteries providing 12 hours of continuous flash mode on single-cell configuration or 24 hours with dual-battery installation. Charging occurs through 12-volt DC vehicle ports or standard 110-volt AC outlets using included adapters.
Radio communication functions on 2.4GHz frequency with effective control range reaching 300 meters, allowing operators to synchronize multiple cones into sequential, simultaneous, or steady-burn patterns from remote positions. The devices stack in groups of 10 units while maintaining charge contacts between bases, enabling simultaneous recharging of entire stacks.
