The Petroleum flash point tester (Eraflash X) is built with a corrosion-resistant steel-aluminum chassis measuring roughly 19.7 × 20.4 × 31.7 cm and weighing only 7.2 kg. It employs a continuously closed-cup design with dual high-voltage ignition pins that generate an electric arc rather than an open flame. Temperature control is managed via Peltier Boost Technology®, enabling rapid heating and cooling across the full 18 °C–370 °C range.
This unit conforms fully to ASTM D7094 and IP 620 standards and replaces traditional ASTM D93 Pensky-Martens testers. It requires only a 2 mL sample, far less than the standard 75 mL, reducing chemical waste. Temperature stability is rated at ±0.1 °C with reproducibility at 3.2 °C for diesel (60 °C) and 5.6 °C for lube oil (200 °C). It includes QuickCal™ in-situ calibration cups and Contamination Prevention Technology™ for self-cleaning ignition electrode protection. A 5.7″ multilingual touchscreen and built-in PC manage sample ID input, standard selection, and result archiving over Ethernet, USB, RS-232, or Wi‑Fi.
