Katadyn HFD PS40 Land Warfare Universal Watermaker

The Katadyn HFD PS40 Land Warfare Universal Watermaker is a rugged, portable water purification system designed for land-based military and governmental use. It produces up to 151 liters (40 gallons) of purified drinking water per day, or approximately 6.3 liters per hour, from fresh, brackish, or seawater sources. The system features a high-rejection spiral wound polyamide membrane that removes microorganisms, bacteria, protozoa, cysts, viruses, bad tastes, chemicals, and salt with a desalination rate of 98.4% (minimum 96%).

Powered by 12V DC (4A) or 24V DC (8A), the unit operates with remarkable energy efficiency at 8.5 Wh per liter and 32 Wh per gallon. It comes with 1-micron prefilters (two included) to handle even the dirtiest water sources. The watermaker incorporates a high-efficiency brushed DC motor and fail-safe controls that automatically start the unit when power is connected. In the absence of power, it can convert to manual operation with the included handle.

Built to withstand harsh operational conditions, the Katadyn HFD PS40 Land Warfare Universal Watermaker has a durable stainless-steel pump and MILSPEC rugged housing with a subdued, non-reflective finish. The unit floats in water when stored closed and can operate up to 14 feet above the water source. It supports DC power supplies ranging from 12-35V with NATO slave cable, battery connectors, alligator clips, and optional solar panel compatibility.
