Retrieval Tool

A retrieval tool is a long-handled grabber used to reach, lift, or move objects without direct hand contact. Most tactical versions extend from 60cm to over 2 metres using telescoping aluminum or fiberglass sections, locking at set lengths with a twist collar or push-button catch. The gripping end uses a claw, hook, or magnetic head depending on the task, controlled by a trigger or pull-cable running the length of the shaft. Claw versions open wide enough to grip objects up to 10cm across, while magnetic heads lift metal items weighing up to 5 kilograms.

Weight stays low, usually between 300 grams and 1.5 kilograms, so the tool doesn’t tire the operator during extended use. Shafts are often non-conductive fiberglass for tasks near electrical hazards, while aluminum versions cost less but conduct electricity.
