Impact Force Sensor
An impact force sensor is a measurement device that quantifies the magnitude, duration, and in multi-axis models, the directional vector of a mechanical force applied to its sensing element during a collision, strike, or shock event. Unlike simple impact detectors that produce a binary alert when force exceeds a threshold, impact force sensors output continuous quantitative data across the full force event timeline, producing a force-versus-time waveform that engineers and analysts use to characterize impact severity, calculate peak force values, determine impulse energy, and assess structural or material response to the applied load.
Sensing technologies include piezoelectric force transducers, strain gauge load cells, and piezoresistive MEMS elements. Piezoelectric sensors generate a charge output proportional to applied force, offering very high frequency response suitable for capturing fast transient impact events with rise times in the microsecond range. Strain gauge load cells provide high accuracy static and quasi-static force measurement across calibrated ranges from a few newtons to several meganewtons. Piezoresistive MEMS sensors integrate miniaturized force sensing into compact form factors for embedded applications in wearable systems, robotic end effectors, and protective equipment instrumentation.
Measurement ranges across available impact force sensors span from sub-newton levels for delicate contact force measurement in robotic gripping and medical device testing to hundreds of kilonewtons for ballistic impact characterization, vehicle crash testing, and blast load quantification on armor and structural panels.
In Pakistan, impact force sensors support ballistic and armor testing programs evaluating protective equipment performance, structural engineering research on blast-resistant building materials, military vehicle crashworthiness assessment, sports science programs measuring strike forces in combat training, and industrial quality control testing of manufactured components subject to dynamic loading during service.
Tactical Supply Pakistan supplies impact force sensors for defense testing, structural research, industrial quality control, and sports science measurement applications across Pakistan.
