Flexrods and FlexiTrace

Flexrods and FlexiTrace are flexible push-pull rod systems and cable routing accessories used in cable installation, conduit threading, and underground duct trace applications across telecommunications, electrical, and data infrastructure projects. Designed to navigate bends, corners, and confined pathways that rigid rods cannot access, these tools reduce installation time and physical effort when pulling cables through existing conduit systems, wall cavities, ceiling voids, and buried duct networks.

Flexrods are manufactured from fiberglass-reinforced polymer in diameters typically ranging from 4mm to 11mm, with individual rod sections measuring 1 to 3 meters in length and connecting end-to-end through threaded or push-lock couplings to reach total assembled lengths of 30 to 100 meters. The fiberglass construction provides the combination of longitudinal stiffness needed to push through conduit runs and lateral flexibility to navigate bends without kinking or permanent deformation. Tip attachments including hooks, cable pullers, and screw connectors allow the assembled rod to attach to cable ends for pulling operations or to probe and clear blocked duct sections before cable installation begins.

FlexiTrace systems add an active locating capability to the flexible rod function, incorporating a tracer signal transmitter within or attachable to the rod tip that broadcasts a detectable electromagnetic frequency — typically 512Hz or 33kHz — along the rod’s path through buried or concealed conduit. A compatible surface locator receiver tracks the transmitted signal above ground, allowing operators to map the route of the conduit, identify blockages, and confirm rod position within complex underground duct networks without excavation.

Rod sets are available in high-visibility colors — yellow, orange, and red — improving visibility in ceiling voids, underground chambers, and low-light installation environments.
