The Flexitrace pipe tracer architecture employs electromagnetic induction technology transmitting signals through metallic or conductive pipes enabling reception of signal strength indicating pipe location and depth. Hand-held receiver displays pipe location through audible tone intensity variation and visual display showing proximity to pipe. Portable design enables single-operator deployment without requiring specialised infrastructure.
Operational procedures involve transmitter placement on pipe or cable, signal transmission through conductive medium, receiver positioning above pipe surface detecting transmitted signal.
