ANPR Bullet Camera
An ANPR bullet camera is a fixed-mount IP camera specifically optimised for automatic number plate recognition applications at vehicle checkpoints, toll plazas, border crossings, and traffic enforcement points. The camera’s optical design prioritises sharp focus across the licence plate region — typically positioned 3 to 8 metres from the camera — with sufficient resolution and frame rate to capture licence plate details even when vehicles are moving at highway speeds.
Typical ANPR bullet cameras deliver 2MP to 8MP resolution depending on the detection range requirement, with progressive scan CMOS sensors ensuring no motion blur during capture of fast-moving plates. A motorised varifocal lens between 4mm and 12mm focal length allows field adjustment of focus and field of view without camera repositioning. Shutter speed is typically programmable to 1/10,000 second or faster to freeze motion during exposure, maintaining character legibility even at 100+ km/h vehicle speeds.
The camera body uses a cylindrical IP67-rated aluminium housing with integrated sun shield to prevent lens flare and infrared illumination interference. IR LED arrays mounted coaxially with the optical axis provide supplemental lighting for low-light and night operation, illuminating the licence plate region uniformly to maximise contrast between characters and background.
Electrical specifications typically include 12V DC or PoE (Power over Ethernet) input with integrated heater elements for thermal management in sub-zero northern Pakistan winter conditions. Video output feeds directly to ANPR software running on local servers or cloud-based processing platforms.
In Pakistan, ANPR bullet cameras deploy at motorway toll plazas, major city traffic enforcement points, border crossings including Wagah and Torkham, and seaport entry checkpoints along the Karachi coastline.
Tactical Supply Pakistan stocks ANPR-optimised bullet cameras and complete checkpoint integration solutions for law enforcement and border security applications across Pakistan.
