Expray®
The Expray® is an aerosol-based explosive detection system that identifies both trace residue and bulk substance levels of explosives across six major threat categories. It detects Nitro Aromatics including TNT, DNT, Picric Acid, and Tetryl; Nitro Esters including Nitroglycerine, Smokeless Powder, and PETN; Nitramines including RDX and Semtex; Inorganic Nitrates including ANFO and Black Powder; Urea Nitrate; and Ammonium Nitrate. The aerosol delivery format covers large surface areas in a single application, making it faster than swab-based detection methods for field screening operations.
The detection mechanism works through a colorimetric chemical reaction, the aerosol spray contacts explosive residue on a surface and produces a visible color change indicating the presence of a specific explosive compound class. No laboratory equipment or power source is required for operation. The portable aerosol canister format allows single-handed application across vehicle exteriors, luggage surfaces, cargo containers, door handles, steering wheels, and electronic device casings where explosive residue commonly transfers during handling.
