DropEx

The DropEx is a dropper-bottle explosive detection system developed for both field and laboratory conditions, packaged in a portable ‘Work Station’ carry case containing a full range of reagent bottles for controlled chemical application. Unlike aerosol-based systems, DropEx uses a dropper mechanism that delivers reagent drops directly onto a sample or swab, allowing controlled, targeted application with minimal reagent consumption per test. The compact Work Station case format keeps all detection reagents organized, protected, and accessible during both static laboratory processing and mobile field screening operations.

This explosive detection system detects nine explosive threat categories through colorimetric reagent reactions — Nitro Aromatics including TNT, DNT, Picric Acid, and Tetryl; Nitro Esters including Nitroglycerine, Smokeless Powder, and PETN; Nitramines including RDX and Semtex; Inorganic Nitrates including ANFO and Black Powder; Urea Nitrate; Ammonium Nitrate; Inorganic Oxidants including Chlorates, Bromates, Potassium Chlorate, Lead Dioxide, and Potassium Permanganate; Peroxides including TATP and HMTD; and Perchlorates. This nine-category coverage exceeds aerosol-format detectors, making it the broader-spectrum option for laboratory confirmation testing.

Forensic laboratories deploy DropEx for post-blast residue analysis on collected samples from detonation scenes requiring compound-specific identification. Military EOD teams use the Work Station kit during cache site investigations where multiple unknown explosive compounds require individual identification. Border security units apply it during controlled secondary screening of seized materials at customs facilities where sample volumes allow precise dropper application.

For forensic units, EOD teams, and border security agencies requiring broad-spectrum laboratory and field detection capability, Tactical Supply Pakistan supplies this explosive detection system kit with application guidance covering reagent sequencing, threat category identification, and Work Station kit management for specific screening environments.

How does DropEx differ from aerosol-based detectors like Expray®?
DropEx uses controlled dropper application for precise, sample-specific testing across nine threat categories including TATP, HMTD, and Perchlorates — compounds aerosol systems don’t cover — making it better suited for laboratory confirmation than rapid surface screening.
