Short-Range Doppler Radar Antenna

The Short-Range Doppler Radar Antenna is available in two variants: BR-3502 and BR-3503 models operating at 35.5 GHz nominal frequency with ±0.1% stability. The BR-3502 features 20dBi antenna gain with a 12 x 12 degree beamwidth housed in an 11.1cm length by 8.5cm diameter lens horn antenna weighing 1kg. The BR-3503 delivers 28dBi antenna gain with a narrower 4 x 4 degree beamwidth measuring 35.5cm length by 19cm diameter and weighing 6.35kg. Both models utilize Gunn continuous wave transmitters outputting over 0.1W power with circular polarization.

Radial velocity coverage spans 30-3000 m/s across operating temperatures from -20°C to 50°C. The BR-3502 achieves maximum range performance of 45m for 4.7mm projectiles and 240m for 25mm calibers. The BR-3503 extends these ranges to 125m and 650m respectively due to higher antenna gain. Both units connect to separate power supply modules measuring 20cm x 15cm x 6cm accepting 115VAC 60Hz or 230VAC 50Hz input.

Military ballistics testing facilities deploy the Short-Range Doppler Radar Antenna for muzzle velocity measurements on ammunition ranging from 1mm spheres to 155mm artillery projectiles. Interior ballistic ranges utilize the radar for in-bore velocity tracking using metal reflector plates positioned inside gun barrels for calibers 20mm and above. Weapons development laboratories measure projectile performance at distances from several meters to beyond 1000m depending on caliber size.

Tactical Supply Pakistan stocks velocity measurement instrumentation for ballistics testing across military and commercial ammunition development programs. The company supplies Doppler radar systems meeting FCC and CE approval standards for short-range projectile tracking applications.

What minimum projectile size can both radar variants reliably track at close range?
Both BR-3502 and BR-3503 models successfully measure velocities on projectiles as small as 1mm diameter spheres, with the BR-3503 providing extended detection range for superior long-distance performance
