Optical Gas Imagers

The SF6 Series Optical Gas Imagers utilize Quantum Well Infrared Photodetector (QWIP) technology to visualize sulfur hexafluoride gas leaks through spectral range 10.3-10.8μm centered at 10.55μm wavelength. Model SF300 features 320×256 pixel resolution with 30μm pixel spacing and thermal sensitivity below 0.025°C NETD at 30°C. Model SF600 offers 640×512 pixel resolution with 15μm spacing and 0.023°C NETD. Both models incorporate built-in 5-megapixel digital cameras with LED illumination and 40-meter laser rangefinding capability. Temperature measurement spans -20°C to 410°C across three modes with ±2°C or ±2% accuracy.

The 5.8-inch sunlight-visible capacitive touchscreen displays 30Hz frame rate imagery through built-in 1024×768 color viewfinder. Ten color palettes optimize gas plume visualization. Temperature measurement tools include 10 points, 10 boxes, and 5 lines with maximum/minimum/average value displays. Super resolution increases pixel count fourfold. Picture-in-picture overlays infrared on visible light images. IMIX and image fusion modes combine thermal and visual data. Manual and automatic lens focusing accommodate varied inspection distances. Automatic lens identification configures settings without operator input. Digital zoom extends to 8x magnification.

Electrical utility crews deploy SF6 Series Optical Gas Imagers for circuit breaker inspection and gas-insulated substation leak detection during maintenance cycles. Power generation facilities use these devices for environmental compliance monitoring of SF6 emissions from aging switchgear installations. Military base infrastructure teams conduct equipment surveys at electrical distribution centers supporting critical facilities. Naval shipboard electrical divisions inspect transformer compartments in machinery spaces where gas accumulation creates hazards.

Tactical Supply Pakistan supplies SF6 optical gas imaging systems with 32GB storage, removable lithium batteries providing over 2 hours operation, and GPS positioning for outdoor documentation requirements.

Can the imager quantify leak rates automatically without manual calculation?
The system calculates leak rates using laser distance measurements, atmospheric correction inputs for humidity and temperature, and radiometric data, providing automatic quantification when environmental parameters are entered.
