Magnetic Degaussing System
The Magnetic Degaussing System (MASK) comes in two configurations: Mask‑C (centralized) for compact vessels and Mask‑D (decentralized) for larger ships and submarines. Both include rugged amplifiers that support parallel wiring to increase current capacity. These units connect with pre‑installed degaussing coils using magnetometers and magnetic cards. Moreover, a local touchscreen HMI and remote Ethernet control provide continuous monitoring. Built with COTS components and compliant with cybersecurity standards, the system features a robust housing rated for IP55 environments.
This system automatically adjusts coil currents in real time to neutralize a vessel’s magnetic signature, reducing detection risks from underwater mines and aerial magnetometers. It adapts quickly to changes in heading and latitude with minimal delay. If faults occur, MASK switches to a safe fallback mode while maintaining magnetic compensation. Additionally, its scalable design allows customization of power, input voltage, and form factor for both new builds and retrofits across naval fleets.
