Tx-10 Transmitter

The Tx-10 Transmitter is a field-portable signal generation unit used in underground utility location and pipe tracing surveys, outputting selectable electromagnetic frequencies onto buried metallic conductors to enable above-ground detection with a compatible receiver locator. Additionally, direct connection mode applies signal through clamp or clip attachment to an exposed conductor access point such as a valve chamber connection or meter terminal.

Inductive coupling mode applies signal without physical conductor contact. The operator places the Tx-10 body flat on the ground surface above the suspected pipe route. The unit induces a signal onto any metallic conductor passing beneath it. This suits rapid preliminary surveys before confirmed access chamber locations are available. Furthermore, the Tx-10 is compatible with most current electromagnetic pipe locator receivers from major manufacturers, making it a versatile addition to existing survey equipment sets without requiring dedicated proprietary receiver hardware.

Internal rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers the unit for between 8 and 16 hours per charge. Battery status and selected frequency display on the front panel LCD screen.
