Thermal lance cutting is a rapid metal and structural material cutting technique that uses an exothermic chemical reaction or sustained electric arc to generate extreme heat enabling penetration through steel plate, reinforced concrete, and other structural obstacles. Cutting mechanism employs iron powder combined with oxygen generating sustained combustion at temperatures exceeding 3,000 degrees Celsius.
