SOLAS First Aid Kit (FAK)

SOLAS First Aid Kits meet the Safety of Life at Sea regulations set by the International Maritime Organization, providing the minimum required medical supply inventory for commercial vessels, passenger ships, and offshore platforms operating under SOLAS certification requirements. Medication supplies cover analgesics, antihistamines, antacids, seasickness tablets, and antiseptic solution, all labeled clearly in English with dosage instructions and expiry dates visible without removing items from their packaging. Furthermore, a medical guide booklet included in the kit provides illustrated instructions for managing common maritime medical emergencies including hypothermia, drowning, burns, fractures, and chest pain in the absence of professional medical personnel.

Kit housing uses a waterproof hard-shell or soft-shell case with a carrying handle and wall-mount bracket fitting for fixed installation in the vessel medical locker. All internal contents secure in labeled compartments or pouches to prevent movement and damage during vessel motion. Moreover, kit inspection and restock schedules follow SOLAS survey requirements, with content expiry dates and quantity checks forming part of the annual vessel safety survey inspection.
