SmartBoat systems integrate navigation, communication, vessel monitoring, and situational awareness electronics into a unified onboard platform for patrol craft, security vessels, and commercial boats operating across Pakistan’s coastal waters, river systems, and inland water bodies. These systems replace fragmented single-function instruments with a networked architecture that shares data between connected devices, giving the operator a complete operational picture from a single helm display.

The core platform connects GPS chartplotter, AIS transponder, VHF radio, engine monitoring sensors, radar interface, and camera feeds through a vessel network using NMEA 2000 CAN bus or Ethernet backbone wiring. Each connected device shares its data with all other network nodes simultaneously. The helm display receives vessel position, speed, heading, AIS traffic, radar overlay, engine parameters, and camera video on a single touchscreen without switching between separate instrument displays during navigation. Additionally, AIS integration displays other AIS-equipped vessels as named icons on the chart overlay with their course, speed, and closest point of approach data, giving patrol craft operators early awareness of vessel movements within their operating area before visual contact range.

Engine monitoring modules connect to vessel engine management systems through CAN bus or analog sensor inputs, reading RPM, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and alternator output in real time. Alarm thresholds activate audible and visual alerts at the helm display when any parameter exceeds safe operating limits during patrol missions. Furthermore, remote monitoring capability transmits vessel position, speed, heading, and engine status data to a shore-based operations center through 4G LTE or satellite communication links, supporting fleet management and vessel tracking across multiple patrol craft operating simultaneously in assigned sectors.

Onboard recording stores GPS track logs, AIS contact history, camera footage, and engine parameter logs to internal SSD storage for post-patrol review and incident investigation. Moreover, weatherproof touchscreen displays with brightness above 1000 nits remain readable under direct tropical sunlight conditions during daytime patrol operations on Pakistan’s Arabian Sea and river network patrol routes.
