Smart Gun

Smart guns are firearms equipped with electronic authentication technology. They restrict discharge to authorized users only. Furthermore, they prevent unauthorized use, theft exploitation, and accidental discharge by untrained personnel or children.

RFID-based smart gun systems use a paired wristband or ring worn by the authorized user. A transponder in the grip housing communicates with the wearable token. Grip recognition technology measures the unique pressure distribution pattern of an individual’s hand grip. An array of pressure sensors in the grip frame captures this pattern. It is highly individual and difficult to replicate on a different user. Additionally, PIN pad entry systems provide a secondary unlock method. These activate when biometric recognition fails due to wet hands, gloves, or sensor contamination. This maintains operational reliability under adverse field conditions.
