The H3-R Portable UAV Detection and Positioning Equipment detects, identifies, and locates unauthorized drones in monitored airspace. Security teams, military checkpoint operators, and critical facility protection units deploy this system rapidly. It establishes drone awareness at temporary positions where fixed counter-drone infrastructure is unavailable.

The H3-R combines RF spectrum monitoring with directional antenna arrays. It detects drone control link and video downlink transmissions across 433 MHz through 5.8 GHz. Signal protocol signatures identify drone make and model from captured transmissions. Covered platforms include DJI, Autel, and Parrot product lines. Additionally, directional arrays determine RF source bearing through amplitude comparison across antenna elements. Angle of arrival calculations from multiple antenna positions triangulate drone geographic position. Location accuracy runs between 10 and 50 meters depending on baseline separation and target range.

Detection range reaches between 1 and 5 kilometers for standard commercial drones in open terrain. Urban RF background noise reduces effective range to between 500 meters and 2 kilometers. Furthermore, the H3-R identifies both the drone position and the operator’s remote control transmitter position simultaneously. This dual-location capability allows security teams to track the airborne platform and locate the operator on the ground at the same time.

The control unit runs on a ruggedized laptop or tablet. A real-time map overlay displays detected drone and operator positions with identification data and signal strength indicators. Moreover, the full system including antenna assembly, control unit, and carry case weighs below 15 kilograms. Two operators complete setup within 10 minutes at a new deployment position. Battery power or vehicle connection supports both static and mobile deployment configurations.
