Pole Cameras

Pole cameras are inspection and surveillance imaging systems mounted at the end of an extendable pole. They allow operators to position a camera at heights or angles that direct observation cannot safely reach. As a result, the operator stays at ground level while the camera does the work above walls, over barriers, or through narrow openings.

Pole construction uses telescoping carbon fiber, aluminum, or fiberglass sections. These extend incrementally to heights typically ranging from 2 to 10 meters. Carbon fiber poles offer the best strength-to-weight ratio. They maintain rigidity at full extension without excessive flex. Quick-release locking collars on each section allow fast height adjustment. No tools are required to lock or release each position.

Camera heads at the pole top incorporate pan and tilt mechanisms with remote control capability. This allows the ground-level operator to adjust the viewing direction without repositioning the pole itself. Resolution options include standard HD and Full HD for general surveillance. Thermal imaging head variants are also available for nighttime or heat detection applications. Furthermore, video and power signals transmit down the pole via integrated cabling or wireless link to the operator’s display unit.
