Multispectral line lights produce a narrow, high-intensity beam of illumination across multiple wavelength bands, projecting a single straight line of light onto a target surface rather than flooding a wide area. This line format makes them the primary illumination choice for line-scan camera systems, web inspection setups, and conveyor-based surface analysis applications where the camera captures one thin strip of the target at a time as it moves past the sensor.

The emitter array runs along a single linear PCB, with separate LED groups for each spectral channel arranged in alternating or segmented patterns along the light bar length. Standard line lengths run from 50mm up to 1200mm, with longer bars available through modular end-to-end joining. Additionally, wavelength options typically include 365nm UV, 470nm blue, 530nm green, 625nm red, 850nm near-infrared, and 940nm infrared, with each channel driven independently for full per-band intensity control. Line uniformity across the beam typically stays within plus or minus 3% from center to edge on quality units.

Working distance ranges from 50mm to 500mm depending on lens optics and line width requirements at the target surface. Furthermore, strobe drive compatibility allows pulse widths down to 10 microseconds, synchronizing with high-speed line-scan cameras running at several thousand lines per second. This strobing eliminates motion blur on fast-moving inspection targets without reducing effective illumination intensity during the pulse window.

Operating voltage accepts 24V DC input with per-channel PWM dimming control via external controller or onboard potentiometer adjustment. Moreover, aluminum extrusion housings with passive heat dissipation fins keep LED junction temperatures stable during continuous operation, extending emitter lifespan beyond 50,000 hours under normal duty cycles.
