Modular
Modular body armor is a protective vest system built around a removable carrier. The carrier accepts interchangeable armor panels, attachment pouches, and accessory components. This lets the wearer adjust protection level, load configuration, and equipment carriage based on the operational requirement. Fixed-configuration armor locks the protective panels and carrier into one non-adjustable unit. Modular systems, however, let users swap soft armor panels for hard ceramic or polyethylene plates. They can also add or remove side protection and reconfigure pouch attachment points without replacing the entire vest.
The carrier uses heavy-duty nylon or Cordura fabric, typically in the 500 to 1000 denier range. Internal pockets accept NIJ-rated soft armor panels covering Level IIA, II, and IIIA threats. Front and back plate pockets hold rifle-rated hard armor inserts at Level III and IV protection. MOLLE webbing covers the exterior front, back, and side panels. This webbing provides a standardized attachment grid for magazine pouches, medical kits, radio holders, and other equipment using compatible PALS straps.
Side protection panels, groin protectors, and shoulder armor attachments connect through hook-and-loop or buckle systems. As a result, users can switch quickly between low-profile concealable wear and full tactical loadout configurations. Many modular carriers also include a quick-release system. This allows emergency removal of the entire vest within seconds through a single pull-tab mechanism, which proves critical during water rescue and medical emergency scenarios.
In Pakistan, military infantry units use modular body armor for adaptable protection across mission profiles. Police tactical teams need configurable loadouts for varying threat assessments. Meanwhile, private security personnel require scalable protection matched to specific assignment risk levels.
Tactical Supply Pakistan supplies modular body armor systems with compatible plates, pouches, and accessories for military, law enforcement, and security applications across Pakistan.
