Magnetic Fluorescent Powder is a non-destructive testing consumable combining ferromagnetic particles with a fluorescent dye coating, used in magnetic particle inspection to detect surface and near-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic components under ultraviolet illumination. Additionally, fluorescent particle brightness (FPB) values measured under standardized UV-A illumination conditions indicate the powder’s contrast performance, with inspection-grade formulations typically exceeding 1,500 to 2,000 microamperes.
Application methods include wet bath immersion, spray application, and dry powder insufflation depending on component size, geometry, and inspection environment requirements.
