Lightweight Solar Panels are photovoltaic power generation units built on reduced-weight substrate materials and thin-profile cell designs, delivering power output comparable to standard rigid panels at a fraction of the total carry weight. The lamination process bonds cells between an ETFE fluoropolymer front sheet and a flexible polymer backsheet using a thin EVA or TPU encapsulant layer. Additionally, this construction allows the panel to flex slightly without cell cracking, tolerating moderate curvature during mounting on curved surfaces, backpacks, or vehicle roofs. Panel thickness typically measures 2mm to 5mm, substantially thinner than rigid panel profiles.
Output voltage and current specifications match standard solar panel ratings, with open-circuit voltages between 18V and 24V and maximum power point voltages suitable for direct connection to MPPT charge controllers. Connector options include MC4 solar connectors, USB-A, USB-C PD, and DC barrel jacks depending on the intended application and connected device.
