License Plate Recognition (LPR) Cameras & Software
License plate recognition (LPR) cameras and software work together as an integrated system — the camera captures and pre-processes plate images while the software performs recognition, database matching, alert generation, data storage, and reporting across single-site and multi-site networked deployments. Together these components automate vehicle identification at a scale and speed impossible with manual observation or spot-check methods.
LPR cameras use near-infrared LED illuminators, NIR-sensitive CMOS sensors at 2MP to 8MP resolution, and global shutter mechanisms to freeze plates at vehicle speeds up to 250 km/h without motion blur. Wide dynamic range up to 140dB handles direct headlights, tunnel exits, and bright midday sun in a single capture without exposure adjustment. Onboard ANPR processing engines perform plate detection, character segmentation, and OCR directly at the camera — delivering recognition results in under 100 milliseconds per capture with accuracy above 98% on standard plates. Furthermore, deep learning classification models running in the camera additionally output vehicle type, color, make, and direction of travel alongside each plate read.
Reporting modules generate compliance documentation, traffic flow analysis, parking revenue reports, and enforcement statistics automatically on configurable schedules. Open API and ONVIF integration connect LPR software to Safe Cities command platforms, CCTV management systems, access control infrastructure, and national vehicle registration databases without proprietary middleware.
These systems serve Punjab Safe Cities Authority integrated surveillance networks, Pakistan Customs multi-lane vehicle scanning at Karachi Port and Wagah, FIA and CTD vehicle investigation programs, motorway police enforcement operations, and corporate campus vehicle access management across Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Peshawar.
Tactical Supply Pakistan supplies LPR cameras and software for traffic enforcement, border security, criminal investigation support, and vehicle access control procurement across Pakistan.
