Lance Holder for Oxygen

Lance holders for oxygen secure and position cutting lances during oxy-fuel burning bar operations — keeping the operator’s hands at a safe distance from the intense heat and molten material generated at the lance tip during cutting, demolition, and thermite burning operations. These holders allow continuous controlled lance feed without direct hand contact with the burning end, reducing burn injury risk and improving operator control during extended cutting sequences.

Burning bar operations generate temperatures exceeding 4,000°C at the lance tip — hot enough to cut through reinforced concrete, hardened steel, rock, and refractory materials that standard oxy-acetylene torches cannot penetrate. Lance holders clamp onto the unburned end of the steel tube lance and provide a firm grip point for directional control. Oxygen supply connects through a valve assembly on the holder body, delivering high-pressure O₂ through the lance tube to sustain combustion at the cutting face. Furthermore, the holder’s length keeps the operator’s grip point 300–500mm behind the active burn zone — providing working clearance from spatter and radiant heat during horizontal, vertical, and overhead cutting positions.

Quick-release clamp mechanisms allow operators to advance the lance progressively as it burns down — releasing, repositioning, and re-clamping without interrupting oxygen flow or extinguishing the lance mid-cut. Aluminium alloy and stainless steel construction keeps holder weight manageable for extended single-operator use. Additionally, lance holders with integrated oxygen shut-off valves allow immediate gas isolation without reaching back to the supply bottle — a critical safety feature when cutting in confined spaces or underwater demolition scenarios.
