HYB Station

A HYB Station is a hybrid power and communications base station that combines multiple energy sources — typically grid power, solar photovoltaic generation, and battery storage — with an integrated telecommunications or data transmission platform into a single deployable unit. Security forces, remote operational teams, and infrastructure operators use HYB Stations where grid power is absent or unreliable and continuous communication connectivity is a mission requirement. Therefore, the hybrid architecture ensures both power and communication continuity without dependence on a single supply source.

The power subsystem integrates a solar panel array — typically 200W to 2,000W peak output depending on station size — with a lithium-ion or lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery bank providing 5 to 100kWh of storage capacity. An MPPT solar charge controller manages energy harvest from the panels. Additionally, a diesel or gasoline generator interface provides backup charging during extended low-solar periods. Consequently, the station maintains continuous power output across day and night cycles and through Pakistan’s variable weather conditions.

The communications subsystem supports one or more transmission technologies depending on the operational requirement. 4G LTE cellular modems provide broadband data connectivity in areas with network coverage. Furthermore, VSAT satellite terminals extend connectivity to locations beyond terrestrial network reach, including remote border posts and mountain forward positions. VHF and UHF radio repeater modules extend tactical voice communication range for security and military teams operating in the surrounding area.

The station housing uses a weatherproof IP65-rated enclosure in powder-coated steel or aluminum with thermal management to maintain internal electronics within operating temperature limits across Pakistan’s climate range from -10°C to +50°C ambient.

Moreover, remote monitoring via cellular or satellite link gives operators real-time visibility of power status, battery level, solar generation output, and communication system health from a central management interface.
