Membrane separation systems pass filtered, dried air through hollow fiber bundles. Oxygen, CO₂, and water vapor permeate the membrane walls faster than nitrogen. As a result, the nitrogen-rich core stream exits as product gas. This method requires less maintenance but caps purity at approximately 99.5% — adequate for laser cutting, electronics blanketing, and food packaging applications.

The Parker G6 and G7 combined units produce 99.999% nitrogen alongside dry air from a single plug-and-play unit with an integral oil-free compressor. Flow rates cover 0.6 to 3 L/min at a maximum outlet pressure of 72.5 PSI. Additionally, inlet pressure requirements across PSA systems typically run 100–150 PSI with dew point suppression to -40°F to protect CMS beds from moisture damage.
