Handheld Water Leak Detector
A Handheld Water Leak Detector is a portable acoustic or electronic sensing instrument used to locate hidden water leaks in pressurized pipes, water mains, irrigation systems, and building plumbing infrastructure without requiring excavation or structural access to the suspected leak point. By detecting the sound, vibration, or electromagnetic signature generated by water escaping from a pipe breach under pressure, these instruments allow maintenance teams and utility operators to pinpoint leak locations from the surface before committing to disruptive digging or wall opening.
Correlation leak detectors — used for more precise localization in complex pipe networks — place two sensors at known positions on either side of a suspected leak section and cross-correlate their acoustic signals mathematically to calculate the time difference of signal arrival, from which the distance of the leak from each sensor is derived based on the pipe material’s acoustic propagation speed. Localization accuracy on current correlation systems reaches ±0.5 meters on metallic pipes and ±1 to 2 meters on plastic pipes where acoustic propagation speed is less predictable.
Tactical Supply Pakistan supplies handheld water leak detectors across acoustic, correlation, and ground microphone configurations for utility, industrial, and infrastructure maintenance procurement across Pakistan.
