The Drug Hunter Drug Analyzer is a field and laboratory-grade narcotics analysis instrument that combines trace detection sensitivity with confirmatory substance identification capability in a single platform, enabling security and law enforcement personnel to screen samples and obtain substance-specific results at the point of collection without sending material to an external laboratory. The analyzer addresses the gap between basic alarm-level drug detectors and full forensic laboratory analysis by delivering identification data accurate enough to support operational decision-making in the field.

The analyzer employs a dual-technology detection architecture combining ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) for trace-level vapor and swab detection with Raman spectroscopy or Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis for confirmatory bulk and residue identification. IMS detection screens swab samples collected from surfaces, containers, and clothing for narcotic traces at nanogram concentrations, returning results within 8 to 15 seconds. The Raman or FTIR module identifies the specific substance composition of seized material — including cutting agents and adulterants within mixtures — by generating a molecular spectrum matched against an onboard library containing thousands of controlled substance, pharmaceutical, and precursor chemical signatures.

The instrument housing is built from impact-resistant polymer rated to IP54 for dust and moisture tolerance, with an operating temperature range of 0°C to 45°C. A touchscreen display presents detection results, substance identification data, confidence percentages, and spectral match visualizations on a clear interface. Internal lithium-ion battery packs provide 6 to 10 hours of field operation per charge, with USB and wireless connectivity for data export and library updates.
