A detector — Magdrone R3 is a magnetic anomaly detection system identifying ferrous and non-ferrous metallic objects through magnetometer sensing enabling ground-based or aerial threat detection for unexploded ordnance, hidden weapons, or metallic contraband identification. The magnetic detection approach provides passive sensing enabling covert operation without electromagnetic emissions revealing detector position.
The Magdrone R3 architecture employs proton precession or optically-pumped magnetometer sensors detecting Earth’s magnetic field perturbations from ferrous material presence. Sensor sensitivity typically achieves detection of metallic anomalies at depths 2–5 metres below surface depending on object size and magnetic characteristics. Array configuration enables spatial discrimination identifying target location through measurement of magnetic gradient across multiple sensors.
