DE-Tector Flex
The DE-Tector Flex is a transportable, third-generation IMS (Ion Mobility Spectrometry) trace detector built for fast screening of explosives and narcotics. It uses a single-tube IMS with rapid polarity switching and a non-radioactive HEPI source. All components are housed in a rugged, CE-certified chassis. The unit includes a 10.4″ touchscreen, built-in thermal printer, and internal memory for up to 250,000 records. Moreover, its reusable swab-based sampling allows up to 30 uses per swab, and results appear within 7–8 seconds. This makes it ideal for use in airports, prisons, and public event security.
Weighing just 10.3 kg, the Portable Explosives and Drugs Trace Detector measures 415 × 335 × 305 mm. It runs on AC power (100–240 V) and supports over one hour of operation per removable Li-ion battery. In addition, the low-maintenance design needs no calibration and offers one-year service intervals. These features reduce both downtime and lifecycle costs. The system includes Gigabit LAN, USB 2.0/3.0 ports, and a traffic-light display interface. Optional deep spectra capabilities are also available for detailed substance identification.
