Photodiode Scanner
The Photodiode Scanner is the second generation of ICM’s innovative flat and portable photodiode scanning system. It features a 30-inch diagonal active scanning area with 50% more photodiodes and ultrafast FPGA micro-controller technology for faster, clearer image acquisition. The device is smaller in overall size yet provides a larger active area, enabling full object inspections in a single scan and reducing operator exposure to threats. It uniquely offers a “3-Edge” scanning system, allowing thorough scans up to three edges of an object’s extremity.
The scanner employs a linear diode array sensor with pixel sizes of 800 microns (optionally 400 microns) and a dynamic range of 14-bit grey levels, providing detailed resolution of 40 AWG / 1.8 line pairs per mm. Its robust design withstands harsh RF environments while remaining user-friendly with a quick boot time and multi-protocol communication including Bluetooth, WiFi, and cable options. Battery life supports capturing hundreds of images per charge, and software features enable material discrimination between organic and inorganic substances in as fast as five seconds.
