Beta-Photon Probe

The Beta-Photon Probe features dual low and high-range Geiger-Mueller detectors measuring 9.26″ × 1.23″ × 1.57″ and weighing 0.78 lb (0.35 kg) in anodized aluminum housing. Detection spans photon range 60 keV–3 MeV and beta range 200 keV–3 MeV with gamma/x-ray capability from 0.1 µGy/hr to 100 Gy/hr. The removable end cap increases beta and low-energy x-ray sensitivity by exposing the 1.7±0.3 mg/cm² mica window protected by stainless steel screen with 79% open area.

Dose rate units display in cpm, cps, mRad/hr, µGy/hr, mRem/hr, and µSv/hr with total dose measurements in mRad, µGy, mRem, and µSv. Detector efficiency varies by isotope: 15% for Pu-239, 19% for Tc-99, 22% for Sr-90 and Y-90, 5% for C-14, and 32% for P-32. The Photon Probe operates as a smart probe with onboard microprocessor and high-voltage circuitry, eliminating voltage transfer across interface cables.

Security and hazmat teams deploy the Beta-Photon Probe for personnel decontamination surveys, environmental radiation monitoring, and incident scene assessment. The telescoping probe handle enables extended reach into confined spaces and elevated contamination zones. Military units conduct radiological reconnaissance across tactical environments.

Tactical Supply Pakistan provides military-grade radiological detection extending Base Unit capability through this dual-detector photon and beta probe system. Organizations achieve comprehensive contamination assessment with military-rugged design meeting defense standards.

Can the Beta-Photon Probe operate independently, or does it require a connected RDS Base Unit?
The probe’s onboard calibration and microprocessor enable independent measurement capability; however, data display and alarm functions require Base Unit connection for operational use and survey documentation.
