SPx Radar Simulator
SPx Radar Simulator is a robust real-time software designed to generate synthetic radar video and track data for a wide range of simulation and testing applications. It enables users to produce radar outputs that replicate realistic scenarios using ASTERIX CAT-240 formats or raw signal outputs through compatible hardware. With configurable radar characteristics, users can create simulations that closely match operational radar systems, including primary, IFF, MTI, and Doppler modes.
The software supports multiple radar feeds, enabling simultaneous scenario management with dynamic interactions between radars and moving targets. It provides complete flexibility to define detailed environments, including line-of-sight terrain considerations and the integration of navigation data using NMEA-0183. A full graphical scenario editor allows the user to configure moving radars, vessels, aircraft, and threats. AIS and ADS-B target generation is supported, alongside secondary features like track data in formats such as ASTERIX CAT-10, CAT-48, CAT-62, and TTM.
SPx Radar Simulator is widely used in radar development labs, system integration environments, and operator training suites. It can operate as a standalone simulator or be synchronized with an external simulation generator. The software also supports overlaying synthetic targets on real radar for hybrid training or analysis. Its capability to simulate racon and SART transmissions further strengthens its relevance in maritime and coastal surveillance simulation tasks.
