Intraosseous Access System (SAM IO)
The Intraosseous Access System (SAM IO) includes a manually operated polycarbonate driver measuring 5.5″ × 4.25″ × 1″ and weighing just 2.5 oz (75 g). It comes with three sterile, single-use needle assemblies: 15 mm, 25 mm, and 45 mm. Each needle includes a Luer-lock connector and depth markings at 5 mm intervals. Additionally, the kit provides a stabilizer cylinder for catheter security, a NeedleVise® sharps-block safety device, and an adapter that supports alternative needle systems.
Built from rugged MIL-STD 810G-tested polycarbonate, the driver withstands extreme conditions and over 10,000 trigger actuations. The needle hubs use color coding to help identify patient size: pink for pediatric, blue for adult, and yellow for humeral access. Moreover, replacement needle packs and extension tubing attach firmly to the Luer-lock connector. All components fit into a compact field case, which is ideal for tactical medic kits.
