ELRS Jamming Module
-
Definition: A mission module designed to disrupt or deny Electronic Link & Radio Signals (ELRS) — e.g., control/data links, telemetry or adversary comms — as part of an electronic-attack capability.
-
Function (high-level): Performs selectable soft-kill effects such as targeted RF disruption, signal masking or spoofing to degrade remote control, guidance or comms — usually integrated into an EW suite.
-
Integration: Usually fits into a vehicle/aircraft/vehicle-mounted EW rack or man-portable kit and works with DF sensors, spectrum monitoring and C2 to target emitters safely.
-
Operational limits & safety: Careful spectrum management and coordination are required — unintended collateral disruption to civilian comms, aviation, or friendly forces is a major risk.
-
Legal & policy constraints: Deployment often requires national authorisation/licences and strict ROE — many countries restrict or prohibit jamming on civilian frequencies. Always follow legal/regulatory rules.
-
Procurement & sustainment: Buy from authorised defence suppliers, check export control/ITAR, request integration support, training, maintenance and software/firmware updates rather than sourcing grey-market modules.
