Bio-Aerosol Monitoring System
-
Particle size & detection range – For example many systems detect sizes from ~0.5 µm to ~10 µm (which covers spores, bacteria) or up to larger sizes for allergens.
-
Sensitivity / threshold & response time – Systems vary how quickly they alert. Example: some claim alarm in ~15 seconds.
-
Continuous vs. periodic sampling – Real‑time continuous monitoring vs. sampling and later analysis. If you need proactive alerts, choose continuous.
-
Data output, connectivity & integration – Look for network/remote connectivity (Ethernet, wireless), alarm outputs, ability to integrate into building monitoring/controls. Example: the IBAC 2 system supports Ethernet, RS‑232, wireless.
-
Consumables / maintenance & uptime – Some systems claim “no consumables” (less cost, less downtime). Eg: IBAC 2: “operates unattended 24/7 without consumables”.
-
Application environment & ruggedness – Indoor/outdoor, harsh (dusty/humid) environments, cleanrooms, security/counter‑biothreat. Make sure the system is rated appropriately. Example: BM3001 is rated ‑40 °C to +55 °C.
