Ballistic Glass – Custom-Certified Transparent Armor

Ballistic Glass

Ballistic glass is designed to withstand numerous ballistic threats while maintaining optical clarity and structural integrity. It protects against small weapons fire, high-velocity rounds, and fragmentation by combining annealed or tempered glass and polycarbonate interlayers. The normal thickness ranges from 19 mm to 120 mm, depending on the threat level, with configurations meeting NIJ, EN 1063, or STANAG 4569 specifications.

The glass units are manufactured through a lamination process using polyvinyl butyral (PVB), polyurethane, or ionoplast interlayers, allowing impact energy to be dispersed across multiple surfaces. High-performance units can stop 7.62×51 mm NATO rounds (NIJ Level III) and .50 caliber BMG AP rounds in higher configurations. Some assemblies also incorporate spall liners or anti-spall coatings to prevent back-face fragmentation. Optical transmission remains in the range of 75–90%, with minimal distortion or haze, even under curved or angled designs.

Ballistic Glass is used in a wide range of mission-critical applications. Armoured military vehicles, navy patrol vessels, forward command posts, observation towers, and helicopter windshields all use it. In each situation, it offers forward visibility while shielding people and equipment from ballistic penetration, explosion shockwaves, and secondary projectiles. The glass may be modified to fit flat, sloping, or curved surfaces depending on the tactical platform’s design specifications.

Supported locally by Tactical Supply Pakistan, the glazing systems come with complete material traceability, field support, and integration guidance. Each unit is verified through certified ballistic testing and available with optional anti-reflective coatings, heated layers, or thermal insulation spacers for extreme climates or night missions.

Does this Glass offer protection against armor-piercing (AP) rounds?
Yes, higher-grade assemblies with polycarbonate backings and thicker interlayers can stop multiple hits from 7.62×51 mm AP and even .50 BMG rounds, depending on the tested protection level.
